Managing Unknown Contacts (MUC) teaches students to recognize the criminal assault paradigm, common areas criminals prey upon victims, identify predatory behavior, deal with unknown people within their surroundings, use of verbal and physical skills to manage people encroaching upon them and reduce the chances of physical assault. Students will also learn four body language cues which indicate imminent attack. This course has been taught to elite military units, police, and civilians. This course is a combination of lecture and practical application.

About the speaker...Larry Lindenman teaches a multidisciplinary oriented approach to self defense. He work works to introduce clients to an integrated blend of tactics and tools to solve interpersonal human aggression situations. Larry retired from the Illinois State Police in 2014 after 25 years of service. Larry retired as a Lieutenant from Illinois State Police Investigations. He spent the majority of his career in investigative functions including General Criminal Investigations, and Covert Narcotics investigations. For five years, Larry was the Director of a multi-jurisdictional, covert narcotics investigation unit. Larry was a SWAT team member and SWAT and Defensive Tactics instructor. In 1995, Larry was a co-author of the Illinois State Police Defensive Tactics Manual.Larry has an extensive background in martial arts, beginning in the 1970s. He holds instruction certifications in Kali and Jun Fan, from legendary martial artist Daniel Inosanto. Larry received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) from 5th degree black belt Carlson Gracie, Jr. He has competed in BJJ and MMA. Larry currently teaches BJJ for Carlson Gracie Team. He teaches martial arts and self defense tactics, internationally, to Law Enforcement, Military, and civilians.
