Volunteers are the life blood of an organization and NHRC is no exception!  These are the following areas within NHRC that volunteers are always welcome.

 

Certification

The Certification Committee can answer questions on what it take to become certified.  The committee also keeps members apprised of meetings and conference in the area to keep your HRCI PHR, SPHR or GPHR or SHRM's CP or SCP certification current.  Email further questions or volunteer for this committee...

 

Communications

Community Relations

The Community Relations committee coordinate any local activities concerning Human Resource related issues in the community.  Coordinates book, food, clothing and toy drives at our Professional Development Events throughout the year.   We will also coordinate any job training or job preparation activities for our membership.  Email further questions or volunteer for this committee...

 

Membership

Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee coordinates the Mentor Program for students at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb and Roosevelt University, Schaumburg.  Students in HR are matched with members of NHRC to learn the skills of their chosen profession.  Email further questions or volunteer for this committee...

 

Program Committee

The Program Committee of the NHRC is responsible for leading the effort to identify topics and secure speakers for the 8 Professional Development Events from September through June.  This committee works closely with the coordinator for the Employee Relations Roundtable sessions as well as with the Chair of the Forum.  Time commitment is approximately 1 hour/month for speaker research/follow-ups.  Email further questions or volunteer for this committee...

 

Vendor Relations

NHRC offers a variety of opportunities for Vendor Partners to showcase their strategies and solutions and to engage our network of HR Professionals. The Vendor Relations Committee serves as the liaison between our member community, our board and our vendor partners to ensure a successful relationship for all parties.
